The Met department has issued warnings of continued heatwave (locally called loo) conditions across Uttar Pradesh. Prayagraj recorded its highest-ever May temperature at 48.8 degrees Celsius, while neighboring Delhi saw temperatures exceeding 52 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, the highest maximum temperature recorded in the capital this season. IMD reported that 10 weather stations recorded their highest-ever maximum temperatures for the month of May.
